По стандарту все слои окрашены в свой стандартный цвет, к примеру: Растровый слой - синий цвет; Векторный слой - зелёный. Нажав на слой два раза, открываются настройки слоя где можно поменять его название, здесь же можно было бы добавить изменение цвета* Это помогает в ориентировании чуть больше*

@MilesAfton This has actually been requested before. I think your idea of allowing the color modification when changing the layer properties could work if we put a color picker functionality similar to what you see in the color palette so people can change the layer color.
However this will probably be subject to heavy discussion as Pencil2D has always used the color coding for the layers. Each color represents a specific layer type.
Also there’s the topic of color themes which is bigger than this problem. Overall I don’t think this will change soon but thank you for your suggestion!
