Sound only plays once then there's nothing

Hi. I love Pencil2D and have just downloaded the latest version (0.7.0.939) which I’m using on Windows 10. However, the problem I have is that when I import a sound it plays great the first time but then it’s silent after that. I’ve tried using mp3 and WAV but no luck. Very frustrating. Help please as I’m working on lip synching.

@Philm13 Hi, sorry to hear about your issue. Is it possible that you can share the audio files you’re trying to use in Pencil2D so we can test them?

Truth is we have another person with Windows 10 also reporting issues specifically with this version, so I’d like to double down on finding why this is happening so I’ll leave some additional troubleshooting questions and relevant guides for information that can help us investigate this issue.

This might take some time to go through, so take your time after sharing the audio files.

Are you using either an administrator account, a regular user account, or a guest account? Check the steps below to find how.

To find out which Microsoft account the admin is using, try these steps:

  • Press Win + I to open the Settings app.
  • Navigate to Accounts > Your info.
  • Under your account name, you should see either “Administrator” or “Standard”.
  • If it says “Administrator”, you have administrative privileges.

You can also check other accounts in the Control Panel.

  • Press Win + R, type “control” and press Enter.
  • Navigate to User Accounts > Manage another account.
  • You’ll see a list of all accounts on the computer. The ones labeled as “Administrator” are the admin accounts.

Is this your own home computer, or is it a school or company computer?

Do you know if you computer has an antivirus? if so which brand?

Additionally can you check if it has a real time shield? If it does case make sure to create a rule exception to have the real-time shield does NOT scan the folder where Pencil2D was downloaded/ unzipped/ installed.

Do you know or are you aware if your computer has any kind of 3rd party software that could delete or block files on a regular basis or under a schedule?
