prismarine Pencil2D suggestions

@prismarine Makes the following Suggestions:

1) Maybe we could improve the bucket tool, and make it work like a normal art bucket tool.

2) Adding a artsy tools! ``` Watercolour

Smudge
`Airbrush</p>
<p style="margin: 5px 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-size: 14px; vertical-align: baseline; word-wrap: break-word; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">3) Also, when importing sound, pencil suddenly crashes.
I add the sound layer.
Change .wav to mp3, or even make a .wav sound file (which will be greyed out and not able to select)
And then it crashes.</p>
<p style="margin: 5px 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-size: 14px; vertical-align: baseline; word-wrap: break-word; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"></p>

@prismarine Since you wrote in your profile update noone else can see what you write as easily, so I created a forum thread. Please from now on try to create threads to speak your mind regarding an important topic.

Now to answer some of your suggestions. Please, since the current download version is REALLY OLD, try and download the newest Nightly Build that is suitable for your Operative System.

Go here:

  1. Our developer “feeef” has been working on the Bucket tool passionately, here’s a video that shows what he was getting at:

https://goblinrefuge.com/mediagoblin/u/feeef/m/pencil-dev-update-colours-on-vector-engine/

However right now it’s still not working like the video because he’s fixing other stuff, in the future we want it to work properly so he’s working very hard for all of us!

  1. For “Artsy” brushes one of our developers is trying to incorporate the “MyPaint” brush library into Pencil, which will allow us to do just that.

  2. Pencil does not accept sound right now, don’t try to use it just yet! It has been already discussed Sound and Video will be fixed together when a proper library is implemented to make this happen. But for now sound import simply does not work

  3. You can currently only export image sequences, and it will be exported as a transparent image if you choose PNG and make no background inside of Pencil.

Most of these suggestions / questions are addressed in the FAQ, Please try to read it:

http://www.pencil2d.org/faq/

Also we have a Tutorials page: http://www.pencil2d.org/tutorials#tutorial

Hope this helps.

I don’t know how to download nightly builds.

@prismarine ¿Did you visit the links on my second reply to this thread? The first link points exactly to the thread where you can choose from a list of different operative systems with links to the proper files…

It’s really easy you just have to download the zipped file that is suitable for your operative system and each file name has the date when they were released.

When you download to your computer then you will have extract the contents of the ZIP file inside a folder, and you will get a lot of files that make portable Pencil work.

Then you’ll have to click on the “Pencil.exe” file for Windows or “Pencil.dmg” if you’re on MAC.

Please try it out.
