Hi, 80 years old … not too bright. After considerable research I decided to try Pencil2d. Downloaded the Mac version, (Intel/Sequoia), but it wont open. Looked around for advice. Went to Privacy on Mac and clicked download anyway but it will not do that. I would have thought that the process would be easy. Do I have to trawl the net now looking for a Pencil2d alternative??
Hi fairholm
In order to open the app you have to right-click on the Pencil2D.app file and click open. A new dialog should appear where you can click “open” and that should start Pencil2D
edit:
ah my bad… I forget they changed the flow in sequoia. You’re not too far off though, after you’ve tried to open the application, you should be able to go into Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the bottom where you should see something like “Pencil2D was blocked to protect your mac”. Next to it you can click “Open Anyway” which prompts a dialog where you again click “Open Anyway”.
After doing that Pencil2D should start.
Tried all that … clicking on both 'open anyway ’ doesn’t work. It will not select the second one at all.
Hmm that’s odd, would you be able to take a screenshot of what you’re seeing or record a video?
Thanks for your help … I downloaded it four separate identical times, and at the last one it actually opened!!! You will be inundated now with me asking for help. Dave
