I would want to add text tool

because this would help me SO MUCH so please consider adding text tool

By using Inkscape you can produce text and this can be exported as a .PNG file and then inported into Pencil2D.

Inkscape has an extensive type library and excellent edit tools.

You can also edit, individual letters by converting them into a path, editing their shape, ready for export as .PNG files.

Problem solved!

This is Comic Sands as produced by selecting Comic Sands and a point size.

Below is the final text, as used in the project.

This effect would never be implemented in Pencil2D! Without drawing it from scratch!

If Pencil2D cannot do what you require, don’t just throw your hands up in horror.

Look at what other graphics packages can do and how you can transfer their output into your Pencil2D project.

The essential concept is to look at a range of graphics tool as an eco system to acheive the desired result. Otherwise you’ll keep on ‘inventing the wheel’!

There’s an understanding in software circles, that the more complex software becomes the more difficult it is to maintain it.

Rafihermi I asked a similar question in August 2023, see screen shot below.

The Pencil2D Team replied and told me about the problems and pointed out to me, that you can used existing software to generate the text and then import the text into Pencil2D.
