Because I use a VPN I have recently experienced sever problems logging in, and have the error message “Unrecognised Location”!
Using a VPN every login will appear to be a different location! I presume that these logins are perceived a spam.
When I login for work purposes I required to use the VPN, I don’t have any choice. HELP!
On this login, my location on screen was Lambeth, I currently over 100 miles from that location.
You will need to provide a bit more information on how you are logging in. There are two scenarios:
Scenario 1: You have a dedicated login for the forums, in which case please share a screenshot of the issue you are having. I am not aware of any location based security features built into Discourse (the software we use to run the forums).
Scenario 2: You are using a third-party login (either the “Log in with Github” or “Log in with Discord” buttons on the login screen). In this case, it is out of our control. GitHub manages the GitHub login, Discord manages the Discord login, and you need to take up any issue with their respective support. They handle the login, and then tell us who you are.

If I attempt to login using scenario 2 via GitHub or Discord. I can’t get this to work since the increase of rouge messages, presumably those services have increased security level. I was using this technique when I was out of the office, using a android phone.
But logging directly into Pencil2D community from my laptop or desktop I find that this is working. I can also have the email account open at the same time as the login process. This makes checking for emails and clicking any required links much easier.
Both types of login were done via a VPN, this is required by my employers internet policies.
