It’s because you’re a new user, I suggest using wetransfer, however I don’t think it’s necessary anymore to share the file since it’s a problem with the output size, so don’t worry for now.
thank you! it worked but its very blurry? i dont know the resolution looked higher while i was making it, and its also not filling the whole screen, could you help me with that?
@helpme Hmm I can think of two potential problems
-
If you changed the resolution when exporting, that could be the reason. That feature is currently only meant for downscaling previews or upscaling vector work that’s too small.
The real resolution size has to be changed by double clicking the camera. The problem is that if you didn’t animate at the target resolution from the start you might need to rescale every frame, or in the worst case redraw them. -
If you instead moved the camera by zooming in / out, this can also lead to a problem if you didn’t plan in advance.
In professional settings is common knowledge that for raster graphics if you have to do a close-up shot of a character you will have to draw that shot at least 3 times bigger. For example if your final resolution is1280 x 720 (720p)
then the final size of your actual drawing (not the video) would be3840 x 2160 (4K)
For your particular description it seems that the camera zoom was changed after creating the drawing, but it’s also possible that the closeness of the camera to the canvas “paper” was not at the default value since the beginning of the work
To test this try selecting the camera layer (yellow color) then go to the View
menu > Select the Reset
or Reset View
option (whichever is shown in your version) this will ensure that the camera zooming factor is at 100% so the drawing and the final output are in a 1:1 size comparison.
If the camera fits your drawing again, it means you “zoomed out”, however if it does not reset itself, it would mean you original were drawing while “zoomed in”.
In case for the latter issue, I’ll have to recommend you to rescale every drawing individually or use a dedicated image manipulation software that supports animation (like Krita) to rescale the “canvas” size in a way that you don’t have to do it yourself and then reimport back the drawings back into Pencil2D (if you want to continue working with it ofc).
wow thank you I think that’s the problem, thing is I’m new to all this and I thought it just looks like this for now since i was directly exporting the image from my drawing software and then directly importing it to pencil2d without changing the size because I was scared the size wouldn’t be the exact same each time which is important for animatics, ill try your recommendation for the resizing software
