Can't open saved files

I try to open saved animations but windows says it is looking for an app that can run them and it cant find anything.

does this mean that i have to do all my animations in one sitting?

Welcome to the forums! To answer your question: No; Your OS (Windows, presumably) does not associate Pencil2D files with the software itself- What you need to do is open the Pencil2D program and go to Files > Open Recent… or Files > Open to open an already-saved project file.
