# When I create a new "layer" in Pencil2D, the last layer is no longer displayed. What should I do?

When I create a new “layer” in Pencil2D, the last layer is no longer displayed. What should I do?

@Leo Hi. Can you take a look at Pencil2D layer area? If you see the layers look like this:

_all layers are visible and opaque_

If you see it like this:

_Only the active layer will be visible._

To change modes press go to **View \> Layer Visibility \> All Layers** or press the key combination shortcut **`ALT + 3`**

If this does not solve your problem, please provide a screenshot of how the whole interface looks to ascertain a bit better what the problem might be.
