# Updates to forum category names

This is a little heads-up that I want to update the names of some of the categories on here. They’re pretty much unchanged from the early days of this forum and I think there’s some potential for improvement. In particular, these are the changes that I have in mind:

- _Installing Pencil2D / How to_ → _Help and Advice_ – This category originally resulted from the merger of two separate “Installing” and “How to” categories, but I get the impression the current name tricks some people into thinking that it’s still only about the former, since I regularly get to move topics here from #Miscellaneous. This is a big part of what motivated me to reconsider the category names.
- _Your Stuff_ → _Showcase_ – I’ve been thinking for a while that something a bit more positive than “stuff” would be nice, so I’m going with “Showcase”, like the channel on our Discord server
- _Ideas_ → _Feature Requests_ – Just to make the title a bit more precise
- _Compilation and Development_ → _Development_ – For simplicity
- _Miscellaneous_ → _General Discussions_
- _Bug Reports_ and _Website Feedback_ – Unchanged

I’m going to leave this post up for a few days in case there’s any feedback and then I’ll go ahead and implement these changes if there’s no objections.
